On Monday evening when Wootton Bassett met Bushton United in a match the result of which was bound to have a distinct bearing on the Calne and District League championship, for the winning team would be certain of the honour. The United, a tall and heavy side, won by 5 goals to 1. In the first half the Town were unlucky to have two players (Clarke and Compton) injured. The scorers were Sandell (for the Town) and Lawson (3), Waite and Newman for the United.
