The Town advanced another stage in the Wilts Junior Cup Competition on Saturday, when they defeated Calne and Harris's United Reserves in the fourth round by 2 goals to 1. There was little to choose between the teams in the first hall, and neither side scored.
In the second half the Town had more of the game, and the goals were obtained by L. W. Chequers and F. Selman. It was late in the proceedings when the home team reduced the arrears. The town have now to meet Honeystreet in the divisional final, and if they retain their present good form, victory should be assured.
The Town will entertain Compton Bassett in a Calne and District League match tomorrow and their team will be: F. Emery; A.S. Beale and H. Clarke; E. Evans, E. Tull and A. Compton; F. Selman, L.W. Chequers, J. Norris, S. Titcombe and W. Sandell.
