The Town did well Saturday, when they defeated Avebury in a Wilts Junior Cup 3rd Round replay by 3 goals to 1. As was anticipated the game was very keen. At the end of 37 minutes Avebury took the lead through R. Lewis, who was their best forward. Only ten minutes of the second half had gone when the Town equalised, F. Selman being the scorer following excellent work by Chequers. The latter player shortly afterwards put the Town ahead. In almost the next minute M, Titcombe, who had given the visitors' defence a worrying time, scored the third goal. Avebury strove hard to reduce the arrears, but the home side was equal to all demands.
The Town will entertain Dauntsey in a Calne and District League replay tomorrow and the team will be: F. Emery; A.S. Beale and H. Clarke; E. Evans, E. Tull and A. Compton; F. Selman, L.W. Chequers, M. Titcombe, S. Titcombe and W. Sandell.
