The Town team visited Calne Reserves on Saturday in a Calne and District League match and were defeated by 2 goals to 1. At the start Calne were slightly the better side and, at the end of twelve minutes, Bennett gave them the lead. The Town strove hard for the equaliser, but the home defence was sound, and it was only when W. Ogbourne was brought down in the penalty area just before the interval that H. Clarke made the scores level.
The second half witnessed a ding-dong struggle and at the end of 22 minutes Bennett obtained the winning goal. F. Emery in the Town goal brought off some good saves.
The Town will visit Chippenham Congrgationals in a Calne and District League match tomorrow and the chosen team is: F. Emery; W. Hunt and H. Clarke; E. Evans, W. Ogbourne and E. Fry; F. Selman, S. Titcombe, L.W. Chequers, W.J. Ogbourne and W. Sandell.
