The Town team were engaged in a Calne and District Cup replay on Saturday, when Dauntsey were the visitors and, as was anticipated, a keen game was witnessed, despite the wintry conditions. Play for about 35 minutes was very even, and then M, Titcombe gave the Town the lead. Dauntsey strove hard for the equaliser, and W. Ogbourne, their centre-forward, came very near on several occasions but six minutes before the end L. Chequers obtained a further goal for the Town, who thus won by 2 goals to nil. Just before the close Titcombe (Wootton Bassett) and Butler (Dauntsey) had to leave the field injured. The Town are due to visit Horton and Conte (Devises) in the second round of the competition.

The Town will visit Calne Reserves tomorrow in the fourth round of the Wilts Junior Cup Competition and the team will be: F. Emery; A.S. Beale and H. Clarke; E. Evans, E. Tull and A. Compton; F. Selman, L.W. Chequers, M. Titcombe, S. Titcombe and W. Sandell.
