The visitors to Wootton Bassett on Saturday was Derry Hill in a Calne and District League match. For fully 30 minutes the game was very tame, but by the interval the home team had much improved and S. Titcombe (2) and Sandell had given them a good lead.
The second half saw livelier football and Cowley (2) and Coombs scored for Derry Hill. Sandell gave his side the victory when he added a fourth goal. Result: Wootton Bassett Town 4 Derry Hill 3.
The Town's first eleven will receive Cherhill in a Calne and District League fixture tomorrow and the team will be: F. Emery; A. J. Beale and H. Clarke; J. Norris, E. Evans and A. Compton; R. Lewis, S. Taylor, L. W. Chequer, A. W. Clarke and S. Titcombe.
