The Town met Avebury for the fifth time this season on Saturday when the teams opposed each other at Cyffe Pypard in the semi-final round of the Calne and District Knock-out Cup Competition. For the third time Wootton Bassett were defeated, the score being 3 goals to 2 in Avebury's favour. The Town were unlucky to lose, but they failed to make the best use of the chances which came their way in the second halt. At the interval Avebury held a 3-1 lead, the Town's goal being scored by S. Titcombe. F. Wilkins obtained the other after 75 minutes play.

Tomorrow the Town will entertain Clyffe Pypard in a Calne and District League fixture and their team will be: F. Emery; A.S. Beale and H. Clarke; E. Evans, L.W. Chequers, and A. Compton; F. Selman, S. Titcombe, W. Ogbourne, W.J. Ogbourne and W. Sandell.
