Calne Reserves were the visitors to Wootton Bassett Town on Saturday in a Calne and District League fixture, and a good game was witnessed. Play for fully 30 minutes was very even. Eventually Watson gave the visitors the lead, but Chequers soon equalised from a perfect centre by Sandell. Just before half-time Stevens should have put his side ahead when the home goalkeeper was out of his charge, but shot wide.
The second half witnessed a struggle for supremacy, neither side giving anything away. After 20 minutes M. Titcombe broke away to score for the Town, and within five minutes M. Titcombe again netted. J. Norris scored from a penalty, and the end came with the score 4-1 in the Town's favour.
