Bassett played Highworth Under 8's in two games at the weekend. In the first match Bassett fielded what was close to a proper Under 8's side, with just three Under 9's in the squad of nine, goalkeeper Josh Dimond Luke Brakes and Peter Willis against Highworth's "B" side. The younger Bassett players put in their best performance of the season and won by five goals to nil. Harry Fitzwilliams scored a hat-trick and Luke Brakes scored two but Bassett's inspiration mainly came from George Drewitt who had an excellent game as captain George has played regularly for the Under 9's in the Swindon & District League matches and really shone playing in his own age group. Bassett have the makings of a very good Under 9 side for next season Stephen Whitfield made a promising debut for Bassett.
