Malmesbury edge it by the only goal of the game

Following the main fixture, Bassett played a friendly against Malmesbury United. The young Bassett side put in a much better performance than the league side and were very unlucky to lose, Malmesbury scoring the winner past Simon Anderton eight minutes from time. For Bassett, George Barker, Simon Anderton and Peter Willis were solid in defence, Callum Snooks caused the visitors lots of problems going forward and Harry Fitzwilliams was lively up front. In midfield Brett Embling and Nathan Gregory, on his debut, battled away for the whole match but Bassett's man-of-the-match was Tom Deane who had his best game of the season so far.
