Bassett visited Athlestan Albion on Sunday and the two clubs played a most enjoyable mini-tournament. Bassett split their league side evenly into an "A" and a "B" side, with Athlestan playing their two sides from the West and North divisions of the Swindon & District League. In the first game Bassett "A" drew 1-1 with Athlestan "A". Bassett's goal was scored by Tom Marchment. Bassett "B" narrowly lost 2-3 to Athlestan "B" in a very entertaining match with Stuart Smedley and George Drewitt finding the net for Bassett. Bassett "B" then met Athlestan "A" with the home side winning by the only goal of the match. In the final match Bassett "A" defeated Athlestan "B". All four games were very close affairs and everyone from Bassett thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon's entertainment Special mention to Athlestan for being such excellent hosts and, in particular, for the after match refreshments which were appreciated by all concerned.
