Bassett make a game of it after the break

After a disappointing first half Bassett performance Bassett found themselves trailing 3-0 against a very good Westlea side. In the first half Bassett at times looked like a side who had not played together before, with the communication between the players very disappointing as, on more than one occasion, players went for the same ball.

What a contrast in the second half, however, as Bassett made a real game of it. Much of the second half saw Bassett attacking the Westlea goal Callum Snooks was influential in much of Bassett's play and it was he who got Bassett back into the match with a stunning shot into the top corner of the net but unfortunately Bassett were unable to add to this goal. The best two chances fell to Stuart Smedley but unfortunately a last-minute tackle denied him the goal scoring opportunity and then he just failed to connect a ball that skidded across the Westlea goal line. Bassett's man of the match was Tom Marchment.
