In addition to the league fixture, Bassett also played a friendly against Malmesbury's other side who play in the South Division of the Swindon & District League. The young Bassett side, who included four players who are eligible for the U/8 age group, found the opposition too strong and did not trouble the Malmesbury keeper in the whole 40 minutes. Nevertheless, the team battled away for the whole match and the score line did not reflect the effort that the Bassett lads put in. Josh Dimond again performed well in goal and the two youngest players, Harry Fitzwilliams and Jordan Embling, both had good games for Bassett.
