The Under 9's played an entertaining and close match at Rylands Way against Robins on Sunday afternoon. The visitors went in front from the penalty spot in the first half following a handball in the Bassett area. Bassett equalised just before half time through Callum Snooks who found himself one-on-one with the Robins keeper and converted well.
Bassett broke the deadlock in the second-half when Callum Snooks scored with a terrific free kick which hit the bar and finally went into the net off a Robins defender. Robins created more attacking opportunities than Bassett in the closing minutes of the match but some fine defending by Daniel Strange and goalkeeper Simon Anderton ensured the win for Bassett.
