Bassett also played a friendly fixture involving the players not selected for the league fixture against their visitors and were in the end soundly beaten by 7 goals to 2. At half-time Bassett were only trailing by 2 goals to 1 and looking the stronger side but Stratton played very well in the second period and, in the end, won comfortably. Bassett's goal scorers were Harry Fitzwilliams and Callum Snooks. Special mention to goalkeeper Josh Dimond who played exceptionally well despite the visitors' goal tally, but for his heroics in goal Stratton would have hit double figures. Bassett are fortunate to have two very good goalkeepers, what is needed now is for the management to try and get through to the children playing outfield that you also need to defend to win matches as well as score goals!
