After the league fixture Bassett played a friendly against Robins, the home side winning this match 4-0. When the two sides met earlier in the season Robins won 9-1 which illustrates that there has been a big improvement in the performances of Bassett's younger players as the season has progressed. At half time there was only one goal in it and it was not until the latter part of the second half that Robins scored their other goals as the Bassett side ran out of steam.
