After seeing brother Andy guide Wootton Bassett Town U11's to cup success earlier in the day, brother Adi Amos was unable to guide Bassett Under 12's to victory as they were beat 1-0 by Greenmeadow Youth after extra time.

Ryan Baxter slotted home two minutes into the second extra period to give Greenmeadow the victory after an edgy, defensive battle.

Neither side looked likely, or willing, to score during normal time as both sides showed great defensive qualities.

The only chance of the first half hour fell to Bassett's Jake Kitchin five minutes in as he took advantage of a scuffed Jack Gilder clearance. However Kitchin's effort from 12 yards was saved comfortably by Craig Hatherall.

In the 35th minute Callum Fitzgerald had a shot blocked at the other end and the rebound fell to Harry Trott but he hit straight at Kieran Shail.

With ten minutes to go Bassett's Josh Shama put a dangerous cross into the box which Nick Buckle connected with but he headed just wide after beating Hatherall to the ball.

In the final minute Fitzgerald had a chance to win it for Greenmeadow but he headed wide at the front post following a Callum Costello corner.

A minute into the first period of extra time, Ryan Baxter latched onto a ball over the top but fired wide from ten yards.

Bassett immediately replied with Jack Brain playing through Kitchin. He shot first time on the bounce but Hatherall was equal to the effort, saving on the dive.

Then in the 72nd minute, the ever dangerous Fitzgerald squared across the box to Baxter who shot low into the bottom right corner.

Three minutes later Buckle forced a save from Hatherall as the 'keeper was forced to parry away his 20-yard volley.

Greenmeadow had a chance for another on 78 minutes when Fitzgerald cut the ball back to Scott Price, who shot low from the left hand side of the box but Shail managed to save the ball with his feet.
