Bassett concede first goal of the season but make it 4 wins in a row

Today's game saw the U12's away to Croft, Bassett was going into this game having played 3 won three and without conceding a goal so they were looking good for another result based on previous games.

The game kicked off and Bassett went straight on the attack and that as the story throughout the first half, the combination of Ellis and Callum up front worked well again, with Callum all over the defenders and again Ellis making a nuisance of himself proved to be a good combination.

The first goal came the way of the ball being worked through the back to the middle where birthday boy Jack picked up the ball threaded a perfect ball through to Ellis who had a shot with the keeper saving pushed the ball into Callum's feet for the striker the score the first goal of his 2.

The next attack saw Nick curling the ball around the defence and the keeper at full stretch saved and pushed the ball round the goalpost. The home team had very few and far between chances but the defence played well and used Kieran to clear the ball.

Going into half time the score was 3 nil, but it's the same story, it should have been more, Anyway 2nd half started and right from the kick off Bassett worked well between themselves and before you knew it Ellis for all his hard work scored a well taken goal to make it 4 nil within 30 seconds game over.

As time went on Bassett started to pass the ball round and switching the play so the game opened up more and with Danny on the wing, he was bearing down to the 18 yard box and scored, I am not to sure if he crossed it or meant to shoot but it went straight over the keepers hands into the far corner, but they all count

The only disappointing part of the game was Croft scored, it was a well taken goal but he should not have got anywhere close, the player went through 4 players along our 18 yard box and just hit it, the ball went over Kieran's hands for them to score, There was not one challenge for that ball that's the disappointing thing about, no challenge at all.

The lads played quite well again but need to head the ball more and pass it round, they did a lot of running which was pleasing to see and for a change the talking was good between them. So well done lets move onto the next game away to Marlborough meet at their Cricket pitch for 11:30 am.
