Big win against newly promoted Old Town Utd

The U12's travelled to Lydiard Park today against Old Town who are the one of the newly promoted teams to Division 1, Old Town were playing against a well organised team who have won there last 7 games and right from the start Bassett showed the newcomers who was the stronger of the two teams.

With Grant making his first full start of the season alongside Nashie together they looked really solid and strong, Ryan playing right back played a few good balls but by his standards had a quite game along with Seb, he also seemed to have a quite game as well. Josh (4) on the right wing and Harry on the left wing they were both on there game with darting runs, and with great crosses coming from Josh the 3 players in the box every time could not connect with the ball, and the ball skipped away from them.

Jack and Nick (1) in the centre of the field did well to contain the opposition, and was spreading the ball around the pitch today, but the midfield need to stay in the midfield, who will receive the ball from the defence and distribute to the front men or the wingers, the game is won or lost in the midfield, so they are important to the needs of the team and the balance, so need to maintain there presence in the middle at all times.

The front men today played well today, giving us strength and speed and with Callum scoring 2 today could have been 3 but for what he says was a bobble on the pitch denied him of his hat-trick, and his strike partner scoring a fantastic header the move started with Harry crossing it and Jake connecting with his head to firmly plant it in the back of the net.

Josh for all his work scored 4 goals today and he deserved it, he has had a flying start so far, and with Keiran, Nashie, Jake and Callum all settling in now into there new team are playing good solid football and has brought balance to the squad with the knowledge that Keiran in goal which at times is not called upon but does well when required in the game.

Danny used at Right back, midfield and striker today played well in his different positions and is an important squad member of the team and is progressing well in the team and this season.

The team played well today and have been over the few weeks now and are getting better as each week goes past, their passing and the crossing of the ball are pleasing to watch so again well done lads keep going, and now with the squad expanding, the rotation of the players will come into effect more and more which will help the team in the long run.

Thank you to the Hazzards who delayed their holiday to let Harry play today
