04 Mar 2012 - Shrivenham and Watchfield (A)

The conditions were harsh. Freezing rain, ice cold wind and a muddy pitch, but we were keen to show Shrivenham what we were capable of. The first ten minutes of the game we had the most posession. We played a strong game with good communication. We were pushed hard and whilst we made some determined runs and well timed shots we couldn't get one past the goalie. The defence and Josh had their work cut out an Josh made some fantastic saves and given the wet slippery ball did well to keep it out of the net. Nat made a run and took a chance with a left footed shot and got the first goal ot the game . 1-0 Our spirits were up, but we got a little complacent and Shrivenham bagged one back in no time at all. 1-1

Half time saw us tiring, yet we had to work much harder. The cold was getting to us and a few 'collisions' caused us grief. Shrivenham took advantage of this, making the score 1-2 Marshall took possesion of the ball and made a great run ending in a lovely pass to Nat who got us our second. 2-2 We then had a muddle around the oppositions goal which resulted in a lucky goal for Shrivenham. 3-2 Adam saw a break in their defence and tooka robust shot, which flew through the air with precision. Wonderful to watch and made the score 3-3 A great resul. Well done boys.
