30 Oct 2011 - Greenmeadow Youth (A)

Within five minutes of the starting whistle, Greenmeadow were proving to be by far the better side with two goals and the upper hand. Wootton Bassett had little form and midfield through to defence were shapeless and untidy. The next ten minutes were just as painstaking with Greenmeadow having another two clear runs taking the score to 4-0

Nat managed to find himself and had some good runs but he was stopped by a solid Greenmeadow defence and keen Goalie. Greenmeadow continued to punish us with endless runs and shots at Goal, Josh was having a hard time, but began to hold his own and started to save well. We started to find our form and Nat then had a fantastic run resulting in our first goal, which managed to pull our heads up a little This was followed by a good run from Adam, who passed to Raisham, who managed to get it in the net, the score now 5-2.

In the second half we seemed to pick up the game a bit and Nat was kept busy helping midfield and defence. However it wasn't quite enough and two more were popped past us! With about fifteen minutes to go Jack Holders efforts paid off and we were at 7-3, the end of the game in site and we had some good shots from Adam, Marshall and Raisham, unfortunately it was all too little too late. One more time our defence slackend and the final result came in at 8-3.

Greenmeadow were without doubt the stronger team and regrettably Wootton Bassett lacked form and determination again this week. Had they put in the effort of the second half in from the start it may not have been quite such a defeat!
