25 Sep 2011 - Shrivenham and Watchfield (H)

The game started off at a fast pace and for the first ten minutes, Wootton Bassett were playing hard and strong.

The defence was hard and good, with upfront seemed determined.

Within 15 minutes Wootton Bassett went 3-nil down, due to hard and precise shots from shrivenham. Wootton Bassett heads dropped and there seemed to be little fire in their bellies. By half time we were down 4-nil.

The second half saw a few good shots on target but some bunching on pitch. One particular corner looked set to close the gap but was punted out by the Shrivenham goalie. Wootton Bassett managed to claw one back towards the end of the second half.

Shrivenham wanted to win the game from the start. They were quicker and stronger to the ball and won tackles that we should have won and were capable of winning. We need to be a lot more aggressive in our tackling. To end we didn't raise our game nor our heads and Shrivenham had a good win.

Next game we need to hold our heads high, go in with the aim of winning and a belief in our ability.
