02 Oct 2011 - Ramsbury Juniors (A)

We travelled to Ramsbury in beautiful sunshine, winding our way through the lovely villages, admiring the welcoming looking pubs, and listing the one's we proposed to visit very soon!!

We met at 9.30am for a warm up and kicked off at 10am.

Both teams started well with Ramsbury looking strong, our first thought was that we might be in for a tough time. Within 4 minutes Ramsbury scored and it was clear that we needed to pick up the pace.

Bassett fought back and within a few minutes Marshall had a great run and cross to Adam, who scored the first goal of the game.

Bassett became stronger by the minute and the second goal was scored by newcomer Nat, again a great run up from Marshall.

By the end of the first half Bassett were the stronger side with excellent team work from everyone.

The second half started well with an excellent save from Josh . Within the first five minutes of the second half we had our third goal from Marshall. We continued working well together and Ramsbury tried to fight back by trying to score but again we had another great save from Josh.

Adam and Marshall showed brilliant skill and team work and Adam scored his second goal of the game. This was closely followed by another goal from Marshall.

The next goal for Bassett came from Jack who scored a fantastic goal from just past the half way line.

Bassett were now beaming with confidence and continued to work well together. Jack scored again closely followed by Nat. By now I started to lose track, the goals were flying in so fast!!

The nineth goal came from Raisham and last but not least Nat scored the tenth goal giving him a hat trick!

The final score was 10 - 1 to Bassett!!!!!

The sun continued to shine and we all decided to celebrate in style and head for the nearest country pub.

What fabulous weather, with a fantastic achievement for Bassett, all the boys did so well - long may it continue (and the weather, because I don't do cold and rain!!).
