06 Nov 2011 - Liden Community 'A' (H)

We started off with determination and within ten minutes Wootton Bassett were proving to be a surprise to Liden. It wasn't long before shots were being fired at the Liden goalie, starting with Nat followed quickly by Adam and Marshall. Liden retaliated with a shot on target but was saved with confidence by Josh. Ten minutes into the game Raisham found his form and scored the first goal of the game. Moments later Raisham again swiftly charging forward and made it two well deserved goals. Our heads were high and we battled on wanting the win. Liden tried hard to level the score which meant Jamie and Jack Timbrell had their work cut out. Jamie managed some great clearances, and Jack stood his ground forcing errors for Liden. Liden battled through several times taking shots at any opportunity. Josh was in good form and refused to let them get past him.

The second half saw hard play by Liden. Midfield had to up the game a little and managed well, Adam taking the ball forward and making some targeted shots. Jack Holder had a rough knock but kept in the game putting pressure on Liden. We then had a phenomenal run with the ball being passed calmly and precisely between Jack Holder, Raisham, Adam and finally on to Marshall who glided the third into the net. This was a fantastic piece of teamwork.

A well wanted and deserved win.
