Bassett share the points in fine game with F.T.S. Netheravon

Wootton Bassett Town secured a point in their Wiltshire League (Division 1) match at home on Saturday when the F.T.S. (Netheravon) provided the opposition. The game produced some splendid football and was fast throughout. After half-an-hours play Owen gave the Airmen the lead with an excellent shot which struck the upright before entering the net. The Town pressed hard after this and were unfortunate to be behind at the interval.

During the second half the Town kept up pressure, and about 20 minutes from the end Smith secured the equaliser. The Airmen again tried hard to score, but the Town gave nothing away and the finest game seen at Wootton Bassett for many days ended in a draw of one goal each. The town meet Devizes Town of Quaker's Walk tomorrow in the English Amateur Cup.

The Town team are due at Quaker's Walk to meet Devizes Town in an Amateur Cup tie tomorrow and the selected side is: C.R. Waite; H.C. Page, F.C.W. Drury; R. Brown, W. Hawson, J.G. Fry; F. Childs, H. Clarke, F.F. Perry, S. Gleed, R. Beazley. Reserve – A. Embling.
