Swindon Victoria met Wootton Bassett this afternoon in a Wilts League match. After two minutes the Town from a corner placed by Charles Embling took the lead. The same player might have put the Town further ahead in the next few moments when he shot into the hands of Watts, the Victoria goalkeeper. Play continued even but at the end of sixteen minutes Ellett equalised for the Victoria. The latter went further ahead a few moments later when Page, the Town full back turned a shot from Ellett into his own goal. Play continued fast and the Town were unfortunate not to have equalised before half time. Watts, the Victoria goalkeeper brought off some good saves. Cook scored for the Victoria immediately after the resumption and Beazley reduced the arrears for Wootton Bassett seven minutes from the end. In the final minutes Wootton Bassett pressed hard and were unlucky not to secure at least one point.
