Narrow but deserved win over Netheravon

Following upon their cup victory over Chippenham Rovers (away) the Wootton Bassett Town added to their success by defeating the FTS at Netheravon last Saturday in the Wiltshire League by two goals to one. Although the first half proved goalless and lifeless, the Town fully deserved victory in the second half when play was of a much higher standard. The goals were scored by A. Embling and S. Gleed, the airmen obtaining theirs from the penalty spot. Pearce, who was in the Town's team for the second time this season, did useful work on the right wing. Wootton Bassett who are drawn at home to Calne & Harris in the next round of the Wilts Senior Cup are anticipating a close game, and they will need to give of their best if they are to have a place in the next draw.
