Another cup draw under the lights at Rylands Way

This return fixture against Old Town was played under floodlights at Rylands Way. We played well in very wet conditions and held a strong Old Town side playing under their Manager for the final time. Bassett took the lead with strong running and a good finish from Ben Curtis. Old Town drew level with a thumping drive which Jack Mason had no chance saving. A comedy goal followed when a high bouncing ball deceived Jack in goal and ended up in the net. Old Town then went 3 – 1 up after a poor back pass allowed the away side to score another easy goal. Wootton Bassett upped their game and drew level with goals from the hard working Callum Walsh and a great goal from Craig Hunt. Craig received the ball on the penalty spot, dropped his shoulder and drilled the ball into the net with his un-favoured left peg. 3 – 3 was fair to both sides and was very entertaining.
