In the return match at Ballards Ash Bassett again handed the initiative to Devizes when the defence was caught under a long ball and confusion between Craig Kelly and Tom Hammond in goal allowed the Devizes striker to knock the ball into an empty net from 20 yds. This was however one of only very few chances given to Devizes and strong play from defence through to the strikers, especially after the interval, duly brought an equalizer. Ten minutes into the second half Harry Fitzwilliams cut in from the left wing and hit the ball into the bottom right corner of the net giving the keeper no chance. From scoring the equaliser to the final whistle Bassett controlled the game, creating 3 or 4 good opportunities and, but for an inspired Devizes keeper, should have won the game comfortably. This point however ensures that we progress to the next round of the competition.
