Sam Collier's 50th minute header gave Wootton Bassett Town their first league victory in over two months as they defeated Binfield 1-0. And a deserved win it was too.
After an evenly matched first half, it didn't take long for the deadlock to be broken after the restart as Collier netted for the fifth time this season, taking him one short of 60 in his Bassett career.
The game was remarkably similar to that played between the two sides in November. Yet this time the outcome would be a favourable one for Jeff Roberts' team.
While Binfield, unsurprisingly given their wealth of attacking talent, had chances, Bassett too had opportunities and could even have won by a greater margin in the end.
It was certainly the perfect confident boost heading into the busy Christmas run. And to Saturday's derby against Highworth Town.
