Corinium Stadium, 27th November 2013
A pair of dramatic late goals helped Wootton Bassett Town overcome a two goal deficit to earn a valuable point against Hellenic League Premier Division form team Highmoor Ibis.
Lee Stevens struck in the 77th minute before Levi Cox made it 2-2 with just seven minutes remaining as Highmoor, winners of five straight before their visit to the Corinium Stadium, blew what appeared to be a comfortable advantage.
Despite playing the majority of the game with ten men, Highmoor appeared set to take the points.
The visitors didn't take long to take the lead as Calum Gallimore headed home Jordan Brown's free kick in the first minute.
As much as they have become known for the quality players in their ranks, the Berkshire outfit have also developed a reputation for their at times over-exuberant style of play.
And that latter characteristic should have granted Jeff Roberts' side a major boost when Brown was dismissed for a second bookable offence midway through the opening period.
However, any benefit for the hosts proved short-lived. On the stroke of half time Mitchell Parker drilled home from distance to double visitors' advantage.
It was arguably a just reward for Highmoor who had played the better football, while Bassett – lacking organisation at the back – laboured.
In the second half Bassett toiled to get back in the game without success. That was until defender Stevens got in on the act, sparking a late rally that Cox would soon complete to secure a second successive draw against top six opponents.
