We went into the game knowing it would be a tough one as Greenmeadow sit top of the table and needed just 3 points from their final 3 games to secure the league title again.

And they started strongly putting us under a lot of pressure as we struggled to keep hold of the ball and were on the back foot for most of the first half. After a succession of corners we finally cleared the ball but to no avail as the next ball in resulted in one of them "was it" or "wasn't it" over the line shots as the ball crashed against the cross bar and down over (?????) the line. From where we were stood we could not see but from the reaction of the Greenmeadow players it seemed that it had and we were behind.

This did not stop them and continued to control the game and got a second goal shortly afterwards. But the boys did not give up, Nat worked tirelessly to find a chance, Jack and Marshall were working hard up and down the flanks, Adam ran his socks off in the middle and JT and Oliver were busy tackling and intercepting the play but we were up against a very good side and got no change from their defense when we did push forward.

The second half started in similar fashion and we were again defending for long periods and conceded a third when the unlucky Marshall put his foot out to block a fierce cross but the pace of the ball took it into the goal. The fourth goal was neat as the Greenmeadow player got through on goal and instead of shooting he unselfishly rolled the ball sideways to the oncoming player for a tap in.

We improved towards the end of the game with some nice passing but again only troubled their keeper a couple of times with long range shots and in the last few minutes we forced a couple of corners which Adam headed wide and Nat shot at the keeper.

Our congratulations go to Greenmeadow on winning the league title for a second year, lets hope we can push them close next season.
