After several weeks off the boys came together really well today to put in a fantastic performance to win and keep a clean sheet. We started well competing for every ball and defending well against some nice passing moves from Highworth. We then started to pass the ball well and worked hard to keep Highworth away from our goal.

We scored after 10 minutes when a typical strong piece of play by Nat earned him a chance that he took by poking the ball past the keeper.

Jack Holder was making some good ground all through the first half and his corners almost brought a second when Adam shot wide and Nat shot at the keeper.

Nat did score a second when Marshall made a strong run down the right side and his powerful cross went straight to Nats feet and he tapped it in under the keeper.

The third goal came before half time after a goal kick from Josh to Oliver then a few passes later on half way Marshall and Adam played a lovely one-two and Marshall drove into the box and hit a fierce shot that the keeper could only parry out straight to Adam who managed to guide the ball into the net as it bounced out to him.

In the second half we had to concentrate as Highworth pushed on looking to get back into the game but we managed to stop them getting any clear chances with JT and Oliver strong in defence and intercepting most of the final balls through. When Highworth did have a sniff of a chance Josh was there to clear up and keep them out.

We had a few more half chances when Adam could have shot with his right foot but chose to take a couple of touches onto his left then shooting wide. Oliver had a shot over the bar and Marshall and Nat also shot wide but we saw the game out to take 3 good points. Well done to all the lads.
