The first game after the Xmas break was not looking too promising as we were missing Nat and poor Oliver had been hit for six with the cold/man flu that is doing the rounds.

But we started well with some good passing and nearly scored when Oliver just put it wide with a good attempt. Adam then hit the post with his left foot when a right foot would have been a tap in and he also headed just over the cross bar as he tried to beat the keeper from his save.

The remainder of the first half was very close after that with no real chances at either end. Forest Green were playing some nice football, passing fluently but with Jamie as usual reading the game brilliantly and JT working hard alongside him at the back they were clearing up the Forest Green attacks. They won several corners but we defended stoutly and gave nothing anything away.

The second half saw Marshall and Jack Holder have some good runs but their crosses into the box were cleared and we could not find a good chance. Josh made an excellent save when their forward was clean through on goal but Josh spread himself well and the ball hit his leg and went for a corner.

Oliver had a stinging shot that went through the keepers hands and hit his head to go out for a corner and Marshall almost scored with a cross shot! But from a corner the ball was cleared outside the box and JT struck a lovely shot which went through the crowded box and into the corner to give us a lead.

We then looked comfortable as we defended in numbers and hit them on the break several times, Jack Holder had several great crosses but we just could not get onto the end of them. Adam fed Oliver with a lovely through ball but the keeper just got there first as they both slid in.

We scored a second when another Jack Holder cross went to Adam who shot and the ball came off the defender perfect for Oliver to lash the ball home to finish them off.
