Our first match in Division 1 saw us lose 4-3. We started brightly with new recruit Chris Stewart causing problems on the right and crossing for James Tasker to go close. Poor marking from a corner saw Ferndale take the lead and soon after they made it 2-0, poor marking yet again let us down and not giving us the start we wanted. Alfie Passingham linked with the lively Stewart whose cross caused panic in the Ferndale box and a back pass to the keeper. Joel Swann's pass from the resulting free kick was hammered home by Tasker to make it 2-1.

From kick off Bassett started the second half on the attack but soon were 3-1 down, again due to bad marking. Bassett then got a passing game together and Stewart who was twisting and turning in the box, slotted home the ball to make it 3-2. Tasker running on to a through ball by Craig Mooney slid the ball home to make it 3-3 and this would have been a fair result but with 60 minutes up, 2 minutes into injury time. poor marking allowed Ferndale to grab the 3 points with their 4th goal.
