The Town team visited Marlborough on Saturday in a Swindon and District League match. Within two minutes Marlborough took the lead through R. Powell and they held this advantage until interval.
Midway through the second half Rossiter handled in the penalty area and C. Waite, the Wootton Bassett goalkeeper, equalised from the spot. Soon afterwards, Dobson regained the lead for Marlborough with a shot which carried Waite into the net but, with only a few moments to go, H. Bartlett headed in from a free kick and the game ended in a draw. The pitch was in a very bad condition, and a number of players received minor injuries.
