09 Jan 2011 - Ferndale Rodbourne 'B' (A)

An excellent victory for the boys today after such a long time without a match. We started hesitantly and Ferndale took the lead midway through the 1st half. The small pitch wasn't helping us much as the boys had very little time on the ball. A good move between our new strike pairing of Joe and Daniel C gave us a deserved equaliser though when Joe beat a couple of players in the wide position and put in a lovely cross to Daniel who controlled the ball superbly and swivelled to smash the ball into the net.

The 2nd half was a bit better from us as our midfield took control. George, Hadley and Daniel were very strong and were creating many chances. We took the lead when the ball went lose in their box and Joe was at hand to poke home.

The all important third goal was a well worked move that Hadley finished well with his right foot after Joe passed to him in the area. Our defence held firm to see out a nice 3:1 win.

Our midfield was excellent today and any of the three midfielders could have been player of the match. George took it though as he had a very good game and also showed great enthusiasm throughout.
