Today's performance ranks as the best that these boys have put in this season. It was a top of the table clash against a very strong Eldene team full of good (and big!) players. We started the match with just the right attitude, taking the game to Eldene, carving out many chances. We deservedly took the lead when another good corner from Joe found Daniel in the box. Daniel still had lots to do but drilled the ball into the corner through a crowd of players.

We continued to press and peppered the Eldene goal with shot after shot. George, Joe and Daniel C all came close to added a second but it wouldn't come and we only went in 1 nil up at half time.

Eldene equalised early in the 2nd half when a long range shot was parried by Ashley and the ball was scrambled in. Eldene then began to assert lots of pressure. Our defence though, and Ashley in goal were keeping them at bay. Ashley pulled off many fine saves and looks ever more confident, controlling the defence superbly. Joe up front was still getting the chances and with some composure in front of goal we could have put the game out of reach. Joe needed a goal for his confidence but it wouldn't come and he was getting more and more frustrated. Hadley, Daniel and George in midfield were being pushed back and called upon to defend more and more.

Just when it looked like we would pay for all the missed chances, Daniel stepped up and put a superb shot into the roof of the net. The match at this stage was end to end and it was with a little relief when the final whistle went and we completed a memorable win. Another great team performance today with everyone playing their part, but was Daniel who stood out with a superb all round display capped by two fabulous goals.
