Another good win for the boys today and another good team performance. Both teams were fighting hard during the early stages of the match and it was quite a physical game with some tough tackling going on. We took the lead when we scored from yet another corner – that's 8 goals so far this season from corners, compared to a solitary own goal last season! Joe again put it into the danger area and as it bounced around it fell to Jake just inside the box. Jake made no mistake and hit it high into the net for a well deserved goal as he had started the match brightly. His Joyous goal celebration was just as impressive as his superbly struck goal!

Joe had a fabulous chance to extend the lead when his goal-bound shot was handled by a defender on the line. Joe stepped up to take the penalty but saw his shot rebound off the bar. This was to be the shape of things to come today for Joe as he saw 4 of his efforts hit the woodwork! (Plastic??). Joe's final effort on goal was a lovely shot on the turn that once again rebounded off the post. He twisted an ankle in the process and had to be replaced.

Supermarine were still a threat though with their big captain very influential in midfield. Hadley though wasn't to be intimidated and put tackle after tackle in, battling superbly against some tough players. He was proving to be a real thorn in the side for the opposition. Whilst it was good for the coach and for the team, I can't help thinking that it ruled Hadley out of the man of the match award as it was picked by a very frustrated opposition manager! The ref told Hadley to calm it down, whilst I told him to keep it up!

Hadley showed that he wasn't all about tough tackling though by scoring 2 goals to put the game safe. The first of which was a lovely powerful finish into the roof of the net. Supermarine gave themselves a chance by grabbing a late goal, but Hadley made the match safe with his 2nd. Joe was picked as this week's man of the match, with the opposition coach stating that he was a threat every time he had the ball. Joe's finishing let him down a bit but his corners were again superb and there was no questioning his effort and attitude.
