24 Oct 2010 - Hungerford Town Juniors (A)

Well the good run of form ended today with a narrow defeat to Hungerford. We were without 3 midfielders and so had to shuffle the team about to play a different system with Alex sweeping and Josh and Nick sat just in front. Alex had a superb game, mopping up at the back and putting in lots of important challenges.

It was a fairly even match but the extra effort that our 2 midfielders George and Hadley told towards the end when we looked very tired. Lack of substitutes told and it cost us dearly with Hungerford scoring in the last minute to take all the points.

Joe up front was a real live wire today though and looked to be finding his old form. Some great dribbles and plenty of good shots caught the eye of the Hungerford manager who named him man of the match. Joe's goal was a good strike from distance that had too much on it for the keeper to hold. A couple of goal-mouth scrambles gave Hungerford the win and gives us something to work on in training.
