Superb win for Bassett U8's

We took on a side that had only lost one game this season and recorded a memorable 2-1 victory in a match that had everything.

Our team started very well and took the game to our opponents with our midfield looking on top form, as Euan and Callum dribbled the ball very well. Our usual defensive lynchpin Lewis started the game up front, but our defence of Ryosuke, Harry and Alanah was very solid and it was a surprise when Coleview took the lead with a very well worked goal.

To our credit we didn't take long to level the score when a run from Euan left 3 players in his wake and then he found the bottom corner of the goal, with the help of the post to score his 5th goal of the season from the edge of the penalty area.

The rest of the half was very even as both defences held firm to keep the score level.

Half Time 1-1

As usual we kicked down the slope in the 2nd half and went all out for the goal which would take us into the lead.

It wasn't long in coming as Harrison struck a fine long range effort, which deceived the keeper and nestled into the net to give us the lead and with it his 4th goal of the season.

We looked very comfortable throughout the pitch as we kept our very good opponents at bay and had a few chances to extend our lead.

This victory was fantastic and the 10 players who took part in the game were absolutely superb, as they fought for every ball and played some brilliant football.

Player of the Match: Euan Burke who as well as scoring a fine individual goal drove the team forward every time he had the ball.
