Bassett U11's move one step closer to league title

On an unusual evening kick-off Bassett didn't play to their best potential but at this stage in the season a win is a win.

The first half proved to be Bassett's best and gave us the 1 goal needed to seal the match. Bassett put on the pressure and the midfield of Nick Buckle, Josh Shama and M.O.T.M Jack Brain had to be everywhere to support the tireless striker Grant White and the hard working defence of Harry "Chopper" Hazard and Cole Embling. The goal came from a good ball up field and a great finish into the top of the net by Grant White. Jack Brain swung in a great free kick bending the ball around the wall into the bottom corner, cleared uncertainly by a Badgers defender on the post. Cole Embling took a long range shot from half way, heading into the top corner stopped by the badgers on form keeper. 1 – 0 Half time.

The Second half kicked off and Badgers sprung into life and immediately went straight for goal, it came to nothing. Badgers had the majority of possession and owned this half, but despite all this Goal Keeper Ellis Embling only touched the ball a few times. Ryan Amos came on to replace Grant White at half time and controlled a long ball beautifully playing the ball between a defenders legs and hit a cracking shot that the Badgers keeper got to with immense talent and style. The rest of the half was all badgers. 1 – 0 was a generous and unpredictable score but it brings us one step closer to league victory.
