This was defiantly a top against bottom match, but it looked like Bassett were the bottom side.

From the kick-off Bassett were not playing like we know they can and Minety threw everything they had at us. But it was Bassett who got off the mark first with a superb cross from a corner, taken by Jack Brain, and a goal from the king of headers Josh Shama. Within minutes Minety had pulled themselves back into the game deservingly when Bassett once again stood off and allowed Minety to have time on the ball. Bassett continued to play unsatisfactory and were lucky to get a goal scored by Nick Buckle who scored 2 today giving him 5 goals in 2 games. Half time 3 – 1 to Bassett who were given a deserved telling off.

The second half kicked off and the half time talk seemed to do them some good and almost straight away the king rained again, with Josh Shama scoring an identical goal to his first one. Shortly after Jack Brain scored a well-taken lob giving Bassett a 5 – 1 lead. The next goal came from an unfortunate own goal, which was very harsh for a team that had put so much into this game. Grant White scored a beauty; with a thunderous strike no keeper would have saved. Cole Embling managed to get his name on the score sheet with a goal that was coming as he had some earlier chances that were not taken. Ryan Amos scored the 9th and final goal for Bassett that would have come a lot sooner but for some tremendous goal keeping by the Minety keeper. Neil Little had a good game and was very unlucky not to leave with at least one goal, Phillip Waddle came on along with Harry "Chopper" Hazard and did what was asked of them. Ellis Embling had a relatively quite game but for a few saves, which should have been prevented from getting to him.

All in all despite the score a very disappointing day and a big improvement needed for next week.
