Bassett return to winning ways

After the last disappointing result, Bassett under 9's were keen to get back onto winning ways.

Malmesbury started off the game with an attack straight away, it came to nothing. Shortly after, Ryan Amos showed that a short break wasn't going to stop him scoring. He scored with Bassett's first attack of the game early on. Bassett had the majority of the possession through this half and were rewarded again through Ryan Amos, a goal poacher's goal. Bassett kept up the pressure and any attacks made by Malmesbury were saw out by the either, the midfield of Jack Brain, Nick Buckle and Josh Sharma, or the defence of Harry "Chopper" Hazard and Cole Embling. Man of the Match Harry managed to score before the end of the half with a ball back into the box, which no one latched onto. James Painter playing his last Match for Bassett managed to keep a clean sheet in his last half in Goal. Ryan came off shortly before half time to give way to Grant who went in up front and nearly put the ball in the net, twice.

The second half started with only one change, Nick Buckle gave way for James Painter to go up front and Grant pulled back into midfield, Ellis Embling went in goal. Bassett continued to pile the pressure on but to avail. Before the match was up, a few more changes were made, but Bassett didn't manage to extend their lead any further.

All in all and improvement on our match, but still not back to the Bassett we know.
