Excellent winning run continues

On a cold Sunday afternoon Bassett once again proved when they pass the ball about, like we know they can, they are unbeatable.

The first half started off with Bassett keeping all the possession, this led to an early lead through the quick feet and good strike of Ellis Embling. The half continued in very much the same fashion and not too long later Ellis had scored yet again, you would have never guessed he is a goalkeeper. Some brilliant defending from Harry 'Chopper' Hazard and Cole Embling kept Bassett on a clean sheet for the first half. Bassett however had not finished scoring and once again Ellis was at the heart of the action, his quick movement of the ball took him past two defenders and unselfishly set up Nick Buckle for an easy goal, by the standard he has set himself at this season. Nick was on the score sheet before half time with yet another good strike to give us a half time score of 4 – 0.

The second half had much the same style as the first with Bassett piling on the pressure. Ryan Amos proved Ellis isn't the only player with good control and quick feet, his weaving in and out earned him another goal for the seasons total. All credit to Cricklade they didn't stop battling till the final whistle, and their captain managed to pull back a goal, to at least stop Bassett getting a clean sheet. Some good saves from James Painter and hard battling from Josh Shama, Jack Brain and Phillip Waldall earned Bassett three well-deserved points.
