Clean sheet in cup semi sees Bassett make it to the County Ground

In a cup match, who would see the winner progress to the final at the county ground, both teams had everything to play for.

The first-half kicked off and Robins had the majority of possession, the Bassett defence of Harry "Chopper" Hazard and Cole Embling keep the core 0 – 0 early on.

Bassett began to get more and more into the game as the half progressed. Good work from the midfield of Jack Brain, Nick Buckle and Josh Shama, along with the upfront movement of Ryan Amos, managed to keep the game all square at half time after a hard half against the wind.

The second half kicked off and Bassett were finally in the game. Good pressure from Josh and Nick down the wings kept Robins on the back foot for most of the half. The break through came from a great shot from Nick and Josh Shama followed up after the keeper spilled for an easy slot in. The pressure continued and goalkeeper Ellis Embling made some good stops when Robins managed to get forward. The second goal came as the last action of the game, a great corner from Nick floated over to super sub Phillip Waddle for him to put in his first goal for the club, after good pressure on the keeper and defenders.

A good win for Bassett and we are on our way to the County Ground, Well-done lads!!!
