Wootton Bassett Town are headed for the much loved Supplementary Cup following a 2-0 defeat away against Wantage Town in the Challenge Cup first round.
Both Wantage's goals came in the opening period, Tom Butler putting the home side ahead on the half hour before former Letcombe frontman Richie Claydon doubled the advantage on the stroke of half time.
Bassett, who welcomed back Mark Barnes as a substitute following his recent knee injury, were then unable to find a way back into the game as Wantage - currently eighth in the Hellenic Premier Division - held firm following the restart.
