Sunday 18th April 2010 - Shrivenham & Watchfield (H)

A good start and a good end to the game today with Ben scoring the first and last goals of the match. It's a pity that Shrivenham had a good spell in the middle of the game to seal all the points.

We scored first with an excellent goal. The ball came to Joe up front who controlled and played Ben in. Ben took a touch and rifled the ball into the roof of the net. What a cracking finish!

Shrivenham looked strong though and scored several times with well taken corners. At 4:1 down we looked finished.

A late rally by Wootton though made it interesting. Another good corner from Joe was pushed onto the bar by the keeper and Ben was on hand to poke the ball in the net. Ben has really shown a return to top form in the last few games, keep it up Ben.

It was a hot, dry afternoon and the pitch was rock hard. The boys battled well though and most ended up with scraped knees. Nicky Price had a particularly bad time, scraping his knee, legs and hand. Bandaged up and still smiling he came back on the pitch eager to do his bit, showing EXACTLY the attitude that we want! Well done Nicky, great attitude and a deserving man of the match.
