Sunday 11th April 2010 - Eldene Rangers (H)

A real team performance from us today with every player making a contribution. Daniel started in goal and never looked troubled with our defence playing particularly well.

Our first goal came with a lovely move involving Ashley, Sam and Ben. The ball was eventually crossed into the Eldene box where Joe was exactly where he should be to volley home.

Our second goal came from another corner with Joe's in-swinger too hot for the keeper to handle. That's 5 goals from corners in the last few games now!

The goal of the match came just before half time when Ben collected the ball 20 yards from goal and struck a superb left foot shot into the roof of the net.

Changes were made at half time with Ashley and Daniel swapping positions. We didn't look as tight a unit as before but Daniel's ability on the ball made sure that Eldene didn't get a grip on the game. They did knock one in however to give us all a scare but we held on to grab the much needed victory.

There were a few contenders for man of the match with Daniel again playing well and Nick at the back looking very solid throughout – really enjoying his game.

The Eldene manager made a point of praising Ben for his great game today though and his strike was certainly one to catch the eye, so a well deserved man of the match today for Ben.
