Sunday 14th February 2010 - Swindon Supermarine (H)

Josh was missing today so we shuffled the team a bit and put Ben in defence to sure things up at the back. It proved to be unwise though as, even though we were strong at the back, we missed Ben's creativity in midfield so Joe had very little service and was largely ineffectual for most of the first half.

Supermarine took the lead when we were a little hesitant at a corner. We really didn't look like we were going to get back into the game at all!

Half time came though and we were still in it thanks to some great goalkeeping from Daniel. Ben was pushed forward and Ashley moved to defence. This changed the whole complexion of the game and Ben and Joe's excellent understanding soon began to show with some great interplay. Ball into Joe from Ben, instant control from Joe, and a pass down the line for Ben to run onto - this happened time and time again, and eventually paid off when Joe was found unmarked in the box. Joe found the net to make it 1:1 and we pressed for a winner.

Joe took two excellent free-kicks and hit the post then the bar. The Supermarine keeper was having an inspired day and blocked all our attempts to find a winner.

A great game today which probably deserved to be a draw with both keepers playing well. Daniel was Man of the Match for keeping us in the game when Supermarine were on top.
